Bring me the world that will not leave you alone.

I help writers, game masters, creators, and small teams build settings with internal logic, emotional weight, and enough structure to support the stories they want to tell.

What we can build

A world with depth, consequence, and room to grow.

Worldbuilding consulting is collaborative. I help you find the rules beneath the idea, test how its pieces affect one another, and organize the material without taking ownership of the world away from you.

The guiding idea

Where Curiosity Leads, Stories Follow.Tess Devillier

Interdisciplinary foundation

I studied how stories work from more than one angle.

My degrees are an AA and a BA in General Studies. I built both around the creative disciplines that now inform my worldbuilding practice.

AA · General Studies

Coursework in Entertainment Technology included screenwriting, film production, editing, creative writing, art, and acting. That training helps me think about a world as something written, performed, framed, paced, and produced.

BA · General Studies

Interdisciplinary study across Art, English, and Communications included art, printmaking, creative writing, and television production. It strengthened the visual, literary, and communication skills I use to make complex settings understandable and emotionally specific.

The process

Start with the part of the world that needs pressure-testing.

You do not need a finished lore bible. Bring the fragments, questions, research, campaign notes, dialogue trees, or stubborn contradictions you already have.

Step 01

Share the material

Tell me the medium, audience, current world rules, source material, and where the project is getting stuck.

Step 02

Follow the consequences

We examine how culture, place, history, character, and systems affect one another.

Step 03

Build the next layer

You leave with clearer rules, focused questions, and written notes for the next stage of development.

Worlds and systems

The website is a container. The world is the work.

I can advise on how a project’s website, pitch deck, or interactive interface communicates its world, but web design is a supporting capability rather than the focus of this service.
